Suvvia non fate gli schizzinosi, possiamo essere disgustati dall’odiosissimo Ronald McDonald, ma come si fa a voler male a un anziano signore sorridente?
Harland “Colonel” Sanders, fondatore della catena di fast food Kentucky Fried Chicken (meglio nota come KFC) (nonché ideatore della ricetta utilizzata a tutt’oggi per friggere il pollo), in realtà non è nè un eroe di guerra e nemmeno un ex militare passato all’imprenditoria alimentare in tarda età. In realtà fu nominato Colonnello grazie alla sua capacità imprenditoriale dal governatore del Kentucky nel 1935.
Il fascino un po’ sinistro della sua figura poteva abbandonarci proprio nel giorno di Natale? Ovvio che no, anzi tutt’altro!
Che cosa c’è di più natalizio di un nonno seduto vicino all’albero di Natale che racconta delle favole ai suoi nipotini? La stessa cosa deve averla pensata la KFC che ebbe il coraggio di proporre sul finire degli anni ’60 tre noiosissime raccolte di tradizionali carole natalizie, da ascoltare rigorosamente davanti al caminetto in attesa di scartare i regali, magari sgranocchiando una coscia di pollo unta al punto giusto.
