The Hoff è tornato ed è pronto a spaccarti il culo! Si contano sulle dita di una mano i personaggi degli anni ’80 che sono stati talmente bravi e lungimiranti da riuscire a riemergere in grande stile dai fasti degli anni d’oro, sopravvivendo persino al revival dei 2000. David Hasselhoff è uno di questi e per di più, incredibile a dirsi, torna alla ribalta da gran signore con un brano che sembra stato scritto trent’anni fa e non risulta nemmeno per un secondo uno sterile divertissement nostalgico.
In parte è merito del progetto che sta dietro a questa “True Survivor”, colonna sonora dello splendido “Kung Fury”, un finto film anni ’80 attualmente in lavorazione finanziato con successo su Kickstarter. Nel film troviamo tutti i cliché dei cop movies anni ’80 portati all’eccesso con elegante sfacciataggine: Kung Fu, criminali con il chiodo, sparatorie, inseguimenti con macchine sportive ma anche dinosauri, robot, vichinghi, hackers e Hitler! Per dirla bene, non c’è un fotogramma o una nota di tutta questa roba che non trasudi WOOOOOOOAAAAAAHHHHHH!
Il progetto, nato dal team svedese Laser Unicorn, ha raccolto su Kickstarter oltre 600.000 dollari rispetto ai 200.000 richiesti per un mediometraggio di circa 30 minuti da pubblicare gratis su internet. Capirete bene che nei 400.000 rimanenti un bel cachet per David Hasselhoff e il suo team di autori non poteva non starci!
In tutto questo la voce e l’interpretazione di Hasselhoff si sposano alla perfezione con un classico synth-pop dal ritornello a prova di bomba. Magistrale l’autoironia con la quale David si è prestato alla realizzazione del video, stracolmo di fumo colorato e primi piani sexy.
Attendiamo con ansia il 28 maggio, data d’uscita ufficiale del film online. Perché in fondo “Girl we need some action!”
