Il ritorno sulle scene degli Aqua con un nuovo fiammante singolo è sicuramente l'evento musicale dell'anno (almeno per chi scrive).Il quartetto danese nonostante abbia pubblicato solo due album è stato il mattatore della dance "made in Scandinavia" con decine di milioni di dischi venduti, ma la domanda che tutti si pongono è: che senso ha una nuova canzone degli Aqua nel 2009?
La band deve esserselo chiesto e ha optato per la soluzione più facile, ma anche intellettualmente più onesta: riprendere il discorso interrotto con "Aquarius", evitando evoluzioni o sperimentalismi di sorta che sarebbero stati davvero fuori luogo.
Di per sè questo non è un male assoluto, ma "Back To The 80's" è semplicemente un brano mediocre, un pop danzereccio per i quindicenni di ieri e i quasi trentenni di oggi che lo ascolteranno con innegabile piacere segreto nella loro macchina ricordandosi delle domeniche in discoteca a ballare "Barbie Girl", "Doctor Jones" o "Cartoon Heroes".
Il titolo revivalistico è quasi un colpo proibito, ma evitiamo di sanzionarlo solo grazie ad un testo (divertito, più che divertente) che fortunatamente non idealizza il passato confrontandolo con il triste presente.
La canzone si limita a giocare con personaggi famosi (Ronald Reagan, David Hasselhoff, Mr. T), film (Top Gun, Rocky, Poltergeist), musicisti (Michael Jackson, Bananarama, Iron Maiden e Twisted Sister) e memorabilia (il Commodore 64, la 7Up e la Barbie - tenera l'autocitazione "Hooray for Poltergeist and Barbie girls") ricordandoci, se ce ne fosse bisogno, che volente o nolente hanno segnato un epoca e più di una generazione.
Pretendere che "Back To The 80's" sia un brano del 2009 è stucchevole, ma piazzatela in una qualsiasi commedia romantica impacchettata su misura per le coppie annoiate che popolano i cinema la domenica sera, e il tutto assumerà una nuova prospettiva.

Si, ma sembra un po', per citare dei tuoi passi, una descrizione del revival stile "quant'era buona la Girella". La 7up esiste ancora eccome, ad esempio, il problema e' che non possiamo essere ragazzini per sempre
Una cozzaglia di luoghi comuni che al confronto Apicella sarebbe Paolo Conte.
E poi, detto tra noi, la canzone fa proprio cagare.
Meglio Lene da sola in tenuta sado maso con le manette: quello si che è rock'n' roll!
C'è tanta fuffa del presente che viene anche edificata come di ottima qualità sicuramente peggio di una canzoncina melodica che fa solo bene alle orecchie. Menomale che internet ha restituito un pò di democrazia musicale nel bel paese. Altrimenti saremmo agonizzanti e tenuti in ostaggio da quei 4 deficienti che si occupano delle programmazioni musicali dei vari network radiofonici, tutti uguali e tutti sotto mazzetta dei discografici. Bella roba. Dopo la morte delle rafio libere una resurrezione ci voleva. grazie internet per farci ascoltare quello che non ci vogliono farci ascoltare.
l'unica cosa che non mi piace sono le nuve labbra di Lene.....

Per il resto la canzone e stupenda.
Io adoravo gli aqua..ho sempre continuato ad ascoltare le loro canzoni..e le ascolto ancora! e mi piacciono..non vedo il perchè di tante critiche, quando in questi mesi ha avuto un enorme successo anche Lady Gaga..le cui canzoni non sono chissà che!(provate a tradurle!)..ma alla fine quello che conta è la musica..e penso che gli aqua potranno avere ancora molto successo! anche perchè hanno fatto altre due canzoni..My mamma said..e Live fast die young, che sono molto diverse da back to the 80's!
Ma vorrei sapere perchè qui in italia non ne parla nessuno in tv!!! la radio non l'ascolto molto..ma non mi pare di aver sentito una di queste tre canzoni!
Io sto ancora aspettando che Greatest hits esca anche in Italia!
